About to का प्रयोग वाक्यों में आने वाले समय में घटने वाली घटनाओं को व्यक्त करने के लिए करते हैं। About to के प्रयोग से उन घटनाओं को व्यक्त किया जाता है जो निकट भविष्य में घटने वाली हैं। भूतकाल के वाक्यों में About to के प्रयोग से उन घटनाओं का बोध होता है जो घटने वाली थीं। जैसे;

रोहित आगरा जाने वाला है।
Rohit is about to go to Agra.

सोहन पढ़ने वाला है।
Sohan is about to read.

रेखा मुम्बई जाने वाली होगी।
Rekha will be about to go to Mumbai.

प्रधानमंत्री लाल किले पर भाषण देने वाले हैं।

About to के प्रयोग वाले हिंदी वाक्यों की क्रियाओं के अंत में वाला है, वाली है, वाले हैं, वाला हूं, वाला था, वाली थी, वाले थे, वाला होगा, वाली होगी, वाले होंगे, वाला हूंगा आदि शब्द आते हैं। जैसे;

वह जाने वाला है।
हम खेलने वाले हैं।
मैं पढ़ने वाला हूं।
राजू नाचने वाला था।
रेखा खाना पकाने वाली थी।
लड़की दौड़ने वाले थे।
राधा कविता सुनाने वाली होगी।

Use of About to Rules in Hindi

Rule (1): About to का प्रयोग वर्तमान काल के वाक्य में करते हैं। इन वाक्यों में कर्ता के साथ is/am/are का प्रयोग होता है।

Rule (2): भूतकाल के वाक्यों में Was तथा Were के साथ About to का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Rule (3): भविष्य काल के वाक्यों में About to के साथ Will be तथा Shall be का प्रयोग करते हैं।

Use of Is/Am/Are About to in Hindi

जिन हिंदी वाक्यों की क्रियाओं के अंत में वाला है, वाली है, वाले हैं, वाला हूं आदि शब्द आते हैं। उन वाक्यों में Subject के साथ is/am/are about to के साथ का प्रयोग करते हैं। जैसे;

वह जाने वाला है।

राजू पुस्तक पढ़ने वाला है।
